On the path

Angel's Landing in Zion, Utah
It's multiple choice. We're never stuck. Sometimes we're blocked in, cornered, and smothered into indecision and doubt, but there's always another way out.

It's wonderful how many ways there are to be a better human being. And terrifying that there are just as many ways to wreck oneself.

It's the little things we do that becomes our substance.

I think about climbing mountains just because they're there. I don't have much more of a reason than that, except that I've never regretted climbing a mountain once I've reached the top. The views are a reward, sore muscles are a reward, and the feeling of accomplishment coupled with endorphins are a reward too.

There are a lot of things that I want to do (and plan to do) that don't have much sense attached to them. Logical people judge this harshly because they don't understand it. And I don't understand them. We're even. Can we call a truce? Too much checking, double-checking, planning, forecasting, preparing, and managing kills it for me. I really like going off the path, which is a terrible habit to have as one who's supposed to stick to the straight and narrow.

I was blessed the other day when I was told by an elder that I am on the path. This affirmation made me muse that being on the path might feel like being on no path at all. My soul laughed and my feet flexed.

I am on the path.

I don't know where this path is leading, and sometimes I can only see it a step at a time, but as I traverse it I feel alive. The glory of God is man fully alive. There are so many choices to make, but I'm just trying to stay alive.

How?

I believe it's multiple choice and faithful steps.

...ramble on...

  1. "Time spent wisely could make me more true". That is sooo true(ha, truth says it all!)

We end up in situations that we have to make a choice, but what will it be? We can be selfish and make a decision based on what this Earth brings to us as "excitement" or we could decide based on our spiritual path with our Father in Heaven and become closer to Him.

Time to time I find myself sometimes choosing the path of the world, but when that moment comes to an end, it feels no different then when it started and nothing seems closer to God.

Then those times when of Spiritual ideas and paths to do things for our Lord, not only does that moment last forever it also creates a buzz that continues on through the next moment!

Multiple choice, as long as "C" is an option, I choose Christ!

God Bless you Brother, thanks for the Encouraging words!

    1. I like the way you put it, "its feel no different than when it started and nothing seems closer to God." That sounds like a good description of practicing futility. I hope you and I make more decisions based on faith rather than our own best judgment. Let's make that our new practice.
