It's hard to accept that it has come to this,
it was hard to foresee through our moments of bliss,
but without control of its persistent spin
the world makes known our place in it.
One day we're fine and the next reveals
what we thought we knew was never real
our ignorance can serve us well,
keeping heaven close while life is hell.
Accepting truth takes strength of heart
A lie conceals the strangest parts
of hurt that hides away in dark
the lines that tells us where we are.
Time may cause my thoughts to change,
but if I sleep too soon they may remain.
What good is there in staying awake?
Pain's made the bed where I now lay.
