Music calms and terrifies.
Mapping a journey, lyrics ship thoughts away to memories and hopes.
Rhythm is vital.
It's the wave alive beneath.
Our strange beating hearts send us through raging seas and safe harbors.
Soul in the sound wraps us in security.
No insecurity.
Words that are meant for me find a place to sleep as my head shakes and swirls with the rise and fall of melody.
It's like air we breathe.
It's the beauty we see, the wounds we keep and cliffs too steep.
Joyful noise falls out of my mouth.
Sweat's on the brow of each worker bee.
We are free to sing, surrendering to deep crying out to the deeper still.
It's too deep.
And we sink with silence all around.
